Somalilandsun: Cabdirisaaq Maxamed Faarax has been elected as the new Mayor of Hargeisa and will lead the capital city for the next two years. Meanwhile, Aadan Jaamac Xaddi was elected as Deputy Mayor.
The two officials were elected today, Tuesday, and will officially assume responsibility for the leadership and administration of the capital, Hargeisa.
Engineer Wiiwaa was among the councillors elected in 2021 under the Waddani Party from Hargeisa, while Engineer Mideeye was also among the councillors elected in 2021 from Hargeisa under the opposition party Kulmiye Party.
The faction supporting Khadar Nuur, who was contesting the election, did not attend the election session.
