Somalilandsun:As reported by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a discreet visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he held talks with the country’s president, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and significantly expand strategic cooperation between their countries.
What lies behind this visit?
The visit, which took place amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, was conducted with a high degree of secrecy, reportedly because a wide range of sensitive issues were under discussion.
Among the key matters addressed was the formation of a multilateral partnership involving Greece, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Israel.
The leaders of Cyprus and Greece also visited the United Arab Emirates this month, where they participated in closed-door meetings held there.
Likewise, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to visit the United Arab Emirates on Friday, as part of the emerging alliance currently being strengthened.
Somaliland and the activities taking place in the UAE
During these developments, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro, was also present in the United Arab Emirates, where he has spent recent weeks.
From the broader context, it appears that President Cirro held meetings with several of the leaders gathered in the UAE. However, no detailed information has been released regarding the nature of those discussions, as the meetings were deliberately kept confidential. Even Netanyahu did not publish photographs from his visit to the UAE.
