Somaliland: Wajale District Administrators Fired

GABILE (Somalilandsun) – Wajale district administrators have been sacked, according to a press statement made available to by Minister of Internal Security Mr. Ali Mohammed Waran’ade that stated the firing takes effect immediately.

The district commissioner of Tog Wajale Mr.Hashi Mohammed Abdi and his deputy Mr.Mohammud Sheikh Musa Bookh and district secretary Mr.Abdinassir Hassan Abdillahi were relieved of their duties and a new district administration appointed by a terse letter from Ministry of Internal Security signed by its minister dated April 8 2015. These long serving district officials have been in office for now four and half years.
New district commissioner is Mr.Adan Musa Elmi (Shine) who will be deputized by Mr.Mursal Nuuh Osman and the district secretary is Mr. Liban Mohammed Jibril. This is the first time since ruling party Kulmiye came to power has Wajale District got a new administration. Wajale which is at the Somaliland western border with Ethiopia is a major lifeline to the country revenue collectors and has experienced a downslide in development due to poor administration hence the need of change. The new district commissioner a former member of Somaliland Diaspora is expected to bring his expertise in revamping the once bursting trading center.
