Announces the Somaliland opposition party as it opens the floodgates for aspiring leaders to challenge Irro as presidential candidate in elections slated for March 2017.

HARGEISA-Somalilandsun- Somaliland’s opposition party of WADDANI, announced that it will elect their presidential and vice president candidates on 1s October, 206.
This follows a press statement issued by the of party’s central committee secretary Mr. Osman Ibrahim Nour (Afgab) on Monday. The convention will take place in Hargeisa and would approve any political memorandum of understandings that party conducted, said the secretary of central convention during his press statement.
“We are kindly informing the members of central committee of the WADDANI party that the convention will be held in Hargeisa 1-2, October,2016. Hence the members are requested to attend the meeting and their participation are essential,”said Osman Af-gaab.
He added saying “this convention will be also used to elect the party’s presidential and vice-president candidates for the country during elections due 27 March 2017.”
On the other hand this convention is to elect the presidential nominee for the current speaker of Somaliland’s representatives Mr. Abdi-rahman Mohamed Abdilahi Aka (Irro) who is doubles as the chairman of WADDANI party.
The delegates may be ratified animously the candidacy of the their bearer. Likewise the vice president candidate of the Party is being contested by two of senior politicians in the party including the first vice-chairman Ahmed Muumin Se’ed, and Dr. Mohamed Ali ,a former diplomat.
For the ultimate prize, presidential nominee non has so far declared intent to challenge Irro.
