Somaliland: UNICEF Apologizes to the Ministry of Education

Somalilandsun- We do recognize that our colleague may have behaved inappropriately and sincerely apologize for this.
This was stated by the UNICEF chief of the Somaliland Field Office Ms Amina Mohamed in an apology letter, below, send to the minister of education Abdilahi Ibrahim Habane following an official complaint to the UN body following abusive language utilized by one of its employees one Mohamed Abdi Sh Ahmed at the ministry’s headquarters in Hargeisa.
Adding that “Sometimes our colleagues may become overly emotional when confronted with difficult situations and this was the case to which you refer” the UNICEF country chief revealed that her organization is determined to its commitment to support the ministry and the right of every child’s right to schooling and learning while looking forward to continued partnership.
Though the ministry’s letter of complaint referred to does not indicate date of dispatch the 30th Nov  UNICEF apology comes a few days after the UN body that works closely with the MOE lost a lucrative contract to Save the Children
