HARGEISA (Somalilandsun): The state has decentralized the registration of non-governmental organizations to regional levels.
The Ministry of Planning’s Director General Mr. Abdirashid Ahmed Guleid has revealed the fact that the legal modalities as per constitution is now in place that prescribes the blanket registering of all forms of NGOs.
He explained that the enacting of Act No. 43/2010 of the constitution demand that both foreign and local ones be registered. He elaborated the issue as being three pronged. First was the local NGO’s, followed by the international agencies and others which lie in between.
The DG further said that it was now possible to register at regional levels for the department has representations everywhere in the country.
