BERBERA (Somalilandsun) – A 120 kms road connecting rural Raari Buul residents to regional capital Berbera has been started.
The foundation stone of the new road was laid by the director general of the ministry of information Mr. Abdirashid Jibril Yusuf flanked by the mayor of Berbera and other officials from the municipality.
Speaking to Somalilandsun the information DG said that the jubilant residents of Raari Buul area in Sahil region promised to provide manual labour at no charge (Voluntary) in pursuit of enjoying ease of transport to and from Berbera.
Thanking the residents for their offer of voluntary manpower DG Abdirashid Y Jibril said that the free community labour will free budgeted funds thence faster completion of an all season’s durable road.
The administration of president of Somaliland Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo in pursuit of fulfilling 2010 election campaign pledges has and is working in earnest to interconnect the entire country through a road network project whose main focus is now the hitherto impassable 375 kms Burao-Erigavo road.
