Somalilandsun- The main Somaliland port at Berbera anticipating enhanced service provision capabilities courtesy of a management and development contract with Dubai Port World worth over $400m is also benefit of an upgrade by Maersk.
Prior to this 30 year contract Maersk Line a global conglomerate operating in trade, energy and shipping of which it is reckoned with upgrade its then existing product to Berbera port from once every ten days to weekly.
According to the shipping giant’s and sales representative in Djibouti Araleh Daher Ismael “the existing Maersk Line direct service connecting Salalah, Oman to Berbera, Somaliland is becoming weekly as of April 2016 in stead of every 10 days previously” adding that Calls are scheduled to arrive every Thursday.
With Customers satisfaction being at the core of Maersk operations the goal with the new deployment is to deliver a reliable, efficient and professional service.
Benefits of the new product to be accrued by clients included but not limited to
1. Weekly direct import/export coverage from Salalah to Berbera and vice versa.
2. Improved schedule reliability.
