Somalilandsun: Residents of Dhadmadeed region shall no longer have to travel to Burao the capital of Togdheer region in order to access public Bank Services.
This follows the official inauguration and operationalization of the Somaliland Bank, Odweine branch on the 31st February 2021 thus actualizing on site state funds and banking services for all government department and public
Odweine joins other regional capitals like Erigavo, Burao, Borama, Las Anod and Berbera etc where central bank services are locally availed as part of expansion and modernization strategies of Somaliland Central Bank Governor Ali Ibrahim Jama (Baqdaadi).
In his tenure through appointment by President Bihi, the bank under Governor Ali Baqdaadi has seen automation of all activities which has eased mobile money payment an interconnectivity.
That said, none will dispute the fact that “The establishment of a central bank branch in Odweine shall ease public service profusion as well as spur economic growth in Dhadmadeed region”
