Somaliland: “Bollore is the Leading Port Operator in Africa” Bihi

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Somaliland Foreign Minister Mohamed Bihi Yonis has revealed that government is satisfied with the investment operations run by French owned Company, Bollore African Logistics in many African ports and stressed that the company is the leading integrated logistics network on the African continent and the leading operator of public-private partnerships in the port sector in Africa.

FM BihiMinister Bihi speaking to the press in his office on Wednesday told that the next phase of the investment contract negotiations with Bollora will be went through in the coming days. The minister has also pointed out that they will have more consultations with qualified experts and lawyers who have related experience on the field in order to get further details and information regarding the procedure of the contract with the Company.

“As a matter of fact, we are satisfied with Bollore investment operations in the horn of Afrika. We have made discussions with Congo’s Transportation minister who was my ex-boss during my tenure in Darfur region of Sudan Prof. Rodolphe Adada and greately encouraged us to cooperate with the company on this issue,” added Bihi.Dr M A Omar

He added that his delegation has paid visit to several African ports including ports of Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Congo where its operations and functions are administered by Bollore African Logistic Company.

“A delegation including Minister of Commerce & International Investment Mohamed Abdilahi Omer and the General Manager of Berbera Port Eng. Ali Horhor have paid visit to several African ports to evaluate Company’s investment capacity in African ports including Logos port of Nigeria, Guinea and Congo. Bollor’e is the leading integrated logistics network on the African continent and the leading operator of public-private partnerships in the port sector in Africa and invested more than 20 ports in Africa with an amount exceeding $ 85 million,” Minister Bihi added.
