Somalilandsun – The President H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamoud reiterated the government’s stance in the defense of her integrity at all times.

At the same time the Head of State disclosed that he had met his Kuwaiti counterpart hence discussed bilateral developmental relations at length.

H.E. Ahmed Silanyo made the statements upon his return on Friday after a four day official visit to Kuwait.

“I met King Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir Al Sabah in my four days Kuwaiti visit whereby we discussed the ways and means of stepping up the bilateral relations between the two countries”, said the President to the members of the press at the Presidency.

He elaborated the fact that apart from the discussions he had thanked the Kuwaiti establishment for the developmental projects they had implemented in this country which both the state and the members of the public acknowledge and appreciate.

He said that he expected feedback quite soon on the proposals tabled to the Kuwaiti government whose essence are of utmost importance to the country’s developments.

The President also said that he met with the head of the Kuwaiti State Charities Agency Dr. Abdalla Ma’touq Al Ma’touq whereby they discussed about the current famine situation gripping the country and its impact.

He said that he impressed upon them the need of doubling the efforts that can address the dire humanitarian needs as far as emergency relief is concerned.

On the recent skirmishes around Eebaad Island where a serviceman lost his life in the hands of Djibouti coastguards, the President said that the state was aware of the situation and closely following it hence that the government was always at the ready to defend her integrity as per cue.

The president was welcomed upon his return by the Vice President and a multitude of the populace who lined up the streets all the way from the airport to the Presidency.

All top services commanders were at hand to receive the President where a guard was mounted in his honour.

He was accompanied by the First Lady Amina Weris and the Presidency Minister Hon. Mohammed Hashi Abdi
