President Silanyo Says he is Recovering After Treatment in the UAE returning to Somaliland soon

DUBAI (Somalilandsun) – The United Arab Emirates has recommitted to support of development projects in Somaliland.

This pledge was made to President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo during a meeting with the Abu Dhabi Fund For Development Director General Saif Al Suwaidi in Dubai where recent investments and development funding agreements between Somaliland and the UAE were revisited.
The Emirati firm DP World has been awarded a 30 Year contract to manage the Port of Berbera worth $422m while the gulf country’s armed forces have been availed a 25 years lease of Berbera airport and port for use as a military base.
President Silanyo who was accompanied by the his envoy to the UAE Ambassador Bashe Awil Omar and presidency minister also revealed his health condition which he termed as apt after medical attention in the Emirates.
Stating that he has been responding positively to medication during his over fortnight stay in Dubai President Silanyo who thanked Allah informed the nation that he shall be returning to the country as soon as possible.
Though the Somaliland head of state went to the UAE for personal issues now revealed as pertaining to medical treatment, he never stayed away from undertaking official duties among the meetings with senior members of his cabinet as well as conclusion of arrangements for Emirati funding towards Berbera corridor works completion and construction of an international airport at the port town.
