Somalilandsun- Ms Fozia Adan, the former FM and deputy PM of Somalia was today sworn as an MP in Somalia.
Fozia Adan served as the foreign minister of Somalia from 4 November 2012 to 17 January 2014. She is the first woman to have been selected for the position. Adan was also appointed Deputy Prime Minister. Fozia is from Somaliland but has joined Somalia politics last year after her National Democratic and Peace party (NDP) was rejected in Somaliland politics.
Fozia had served as a diplomat in the former government of Somalia before 1991. She worked as a secretary at the Somali Embassy in France in the 1980s and later moved and settled in England where she founded RAAD community services in Southall, West London. Later she founded RAAD international TV before moving to politics in Somaliland and later to Somalia.
