Somalia: Amb Qin Jian of China Assumes Duties in Mogadishu

Somalia State Minister for foreign affairs  receives a copy of the credentials of the new ambassador of P.R.C. to #Somalia Mr. Qin Jian.

Somalilandsun- Newly appointed Chinese Envoy to Somalia Ambassador Qin Jian has assumed duties in Mogadishu.
This ascension to office came after Ambassador Jian’s credentials were submitted to and accepted by the Somalia ministry of foreign affairs during a function at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu
Amb Qin Jian replaces outgoing predecessor Ambassador: Wei Hongtian whose tour of duty ended in February this year.
Before departing the country Amb Hongtian visited villa Somalia where he not only congratulated newly elected president Farmajo but bid him and the country farewell as well.

The arrival of Qin Jian to Somalia is not only a new posting but a promotion since before appointment by President Xi Jinping as his the people’s Republic of China ambassador to Somalia h he was Charge d’Affaires at the Chinese Embassy in Abuja Nigeria
Follow a long absence occasioned by Civil strife in Somalia the People’s Republic of China reopened its embassy in Mogadishu in 2014
Outgoing and incoming Chinese Envoys to Somalia Ambassadors Wei Hongtian and Qin Jian respectively Due to its non recognition internationally as a sovereign state Somaliland shall be se bed by the Chinese envoy based in Mogadishu
