Somalilandsun – President Uhuru Kenyatta has visited the retirement home of former President Daniel Moi where they held talks for an hour reports the Horn Portal.

Uhuru who has been on a tour of Nakuru since Thursday evening for talks with leaders and to open the Agricultural Society of Kenya Nakuru National show on Friday arrived at the Kabarak home of Moi in Rongai district of Nakuru county and proceeded to visit with the retired president before he flew to Kirinyaga later in the day.

The agenda of the meeting was however not disclosed although Moi’s press secretary Lee Njiru later told The Star that the two “discusssed matters of national and mutual interest.” “His excellency the President paid Mzee a courtesy call at his home where they held intensive talks that lasted for about one hour,” Njiru said.

He however could not reveal what was discussed during the meeting and instead said that since both Uhuru and Moi were statesmen, topical national issues would naturally be the subject of their talks.

“Moi is an elderly statesman and Uhuru the President so there’s no way their talk of mutual interests cannot delve into topical national issues,” he said.

When contacted for the President’s itinerary for the day, his handlers had however stated that Uhuru would make an “unofficial visit to his home in Gicheha Farm before heading to Kirinyaga for the burial of Kanu regime cabinet minister James Njiru.” The Kenyatta’s Gicheha farm neighbours Moi’s Kabarak farm in Rongai.
