ADDIS ABABA (Somalilandsun) – The Citizens and government of Somaliland have been praised for maintaining sustainable peace and security as well as the development effected in their country whose sovereignty is yet to recognized internationally.

The praises were by former Nigerian President Olesugum Obasanjo during a meeting with the Somaliland team of negotiators with Somalia currently in the Ethiopian capital Addis

Ababa where the meeting took place as revealed by a press statement released by presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Suleiman Duhul.

The former Nigerian president and currently a member of the prestigious Eminent Africans Club who is well versed in issues related to the Republic of Somaliland said that the achievements garnered by the nation and its people that surpasses those of many African countries is a very good example worthy of emulation.

“It is very important for the international community to discern the republic of Somaliland under leadership of President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo with improved vision” said Olesugun Obasanjo

The Somaliland team of negotiators which gave Olesugun Obasanjo a full briefing on prevalent status in their country is led by Foreign minister Mohamed Behi Yonis and includes the presidency, livestock, social services Hirsi H Ali, Abdi Aw Dahir and Hon Garad respectively and augmented by MP Kijande as well as the first and second deputy speakers of the Somaliland parliament MPS Bashe M Farah and Hon Yusuf.

During a pre-departure media briefing at Egal international airport in Hargeisa Foreign minister Behi Yonis informed that the Somaliland negotiators shall be in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa where they shall particulate in a high ranking negotiation skills based workshop before proceeding to Ankara.
