Somalilandsun: Uganda airlines which is set to receive its its second Airbus this month as the Kampala based national carrier continues with revival efforts.

Added to  two Airbus A330neo aircraft it received  last month the acquisition brings the total fleet to five including four Bombardier CRJ900 acquired much earlier and being used for regional flights.

These acquisitions have made it possible for the airline to set expansion plans for  its route both in Africa and beyond  this year.

In Africa the airline plans to expand its regional destinations to and from Southern and Central Africa to include, Kinshasa in DRC, Zanzibar, Asmara in Eritrea, Hargeisa in Somaliland, Lusaka in Zambia, Harare in Zimbabwe, Johannesburg in South Africa, Djibouti, and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

Beyond Africa this year  Uganda Airlines has revealed plans to fly to Dubai, London, Guangzhou, and Mumbai.

Uganda Airlines commenced commercial operations on August 28, 2019, and currently operates direct flights from its hub in Entebbe to and from Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Bujumbura, and Mogadishu.

Following the recent announcement that Kenya airways shall start plying the Nairobi- Hargeisa route latest March 2021 the anticipated arrival of Uganda Airlines shall bring the total to five of international carriers flying to Egal international airport in Hargeisa

Uganda Airlines Flight UR520 connects Entebbe, Uganda to Mogadishu, Somalia, taking off from Entebbe International Airport EBB and landing at Mogadishu Aden Adde International Airport MGQ. … 3 flights per week. The flight UR520 is operated on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
