Somaliland: Taiwan Treats Local Universities with Computers


Somaliland envoy to the UAE Amb Bashe Awil hands a certificate of appreciation to his Taiwanese counterpart Amb Jerry Yang in Dubai

Somalilandsun- Five universities in Somaliland are beneficiaries of Taiwanese donated computers currently on transit from the United Arab Emirates.
The five laptop computers donated by the Government in Taipei were handed over to the Somaliland diplomatic envoy in the UAE ambassador Bashe Awil Farah by the Director general at the Taiwanese mission in Dubai Ambassador Jerry Yang.
Upon receiving the donation Amb Bashe Awil who thanked the people of Taiwan said that citizens of somaliland shall cherish the gesture “which is the first of its kind by Taiwan”
The Envoy also awarded on behalf of the government of Somaliland a certificate of appreciation  to Amb Yang who promised to foster closer relations between the two countries.
The fifty Taiwanese made computers shall be distributed to

1. Nugaal University, Las Anod Sool, 10 Computers (Laptop)
2. Burao University, Togdheer, 10 Computers (Laptop)
3. Berbera Maritime University, 10 Computers (Laptop)
4. Tima-ade University,Gabile 10 Computers (Laptop) and
5. Erigavo University,Sanaag 10 Computers (Laptop)

Visiting VP Sayli witnessed the handover The handover function at the Somaliland diplomatic mission in the UAE was witnessed by Vice President Abdilahi Sayli who is on a working visit to the Gulf country.
