Somaliland: State Warns Human Traffickers

BORAME (Somalilandsun) – The days of some individuals benefitting from human trafficking are at the last lap.

This was informed by the Somaliland principal immigration officer –PIO Colonel Mohamed Ali Yusuf ‘Ina Ambaro’ while on a visit in Borame town where he revealed that Ethiopia and Somaliland authorities have intensified their anti-illegal immigration activities.

While warning the Human Traffickers Col Ina Ambaro said, “We are determined to put a complete end to illegal immigration and the initial focus is on Human Traffickers who shall be the first casualty”

Col Ambaro PIOOn anti-illegal immigration with Ethiopia the PIO said that both sides are pursuing operations geared towards not only deterring illegal cross-border movement but repatriation to country of origin for those caught.

The two countries are engulfed by mass movement of its peoples with Ethiopians transiting via Somaliland to Gulf Countries while Somalilanders using Ethiopia as a bridge for illegal immigration to Europe.
