Somaliland: President Silanyo Congratulates Uhuru Kenya, Anticipates Enhanced Bi-lateral Relations with Kenya

Somaliland congratulated Uhuru Kenyatta

Somalilandsun- Following the reelection of Uhuru Kenyatta as president of Kenya, the people and government of Somaliland are hopefully of continued cooperation between the two countries in various issues pertinent to the Horn region.
This was stated by Somaliland president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo in a congratulatory message extended following release of final election result by Kenya’s Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission-IEBC
According to official figures released by IEBC on Friday, the incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta secured 54.27 percent of the ballots cast, while his rival, Raila Odinga, won 44.74 percent.
With Kenyatta receiving more than 50 percent of the votes, he will not be forced into a second round of voting, thence officially president re-elect thence the congratulatory message extended by his Somaliland counterpart President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo.

The President re-elect of the Republic of Kenya.
You’re Excellency,
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Somaliland and its people, I wish to extend to you our heartfelt congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Your election demonstrates the confidence that the Kenyan people have in your leadership. It is my hope that during your second term in office, we shall continue to work together towards strengthening the friendly relations between our two nations. Within the region of Horn of Africa, we will continue to enhance peace, progress and democracy.

Mr. President, please accept my sincere wishes for the success of your administration, for the personal well-being of yourself and your family and for the peace and prosperity of your people and country.
