A Somalia army officer is awarded the right to act as Battalion Commander or operations officer

Somaliland sun – 20 Somalia national army officers have completed a training imparting skills on techniques and procedures for either battalion Commander or Staff Officer provided by the European Union Training mission Somalia-EUTM.

During the course aimed at providing officers a range of topics regarding the knowledge and skills needed in either battalion Commander or Staff Officer positions the EUTM in coordination with SNA and AMISOM, employment of European trainers and mentors coming from Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Finland and Sweden reveals an unclassified EUTM press statement below.

EUTM SOMALIA TRAINING ACTIVITIES IN MOGADISHU CONTINUE WITH THE GRADUATION OF THE BATTALION COMMANDER COURSE

On 5th November, at Jazeera Training Camp (JTC) was held a ceremony celebrating the graduation of the Battalion Commander Course.

The event was attended by EUTM Somalia Mission Commander, Brigadier General Antonio Maggi, Somali Commander of Defence Force, Major General Mohamed Adan Ahmed and AMISOM Deputy Force Commander, Major General James Nakibus Lakara.

The training carried out at JTC is conducted in coordination with SNA and AMISOM, with the employment of European trainers and mentors coming from Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Finland and Sweden.

During the training, 20 officers learned techniques and procedures to act as either battalion Commander or Staff Officer. The Course aims was to teach the student a range of topics regarding the knowledge and skills needed in those positions.
