Somaliland: Livestock ministry to inoculate over one Million Sheep’s and Goats

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Livestock farmers are set to benefit from a broad immunization campaign.

The ministry of livestock development will inoculate over 1 million sheep and goats against lung infections.

The livestock development minister Dr Abdi Aw Dahir in Hargeisa revealed the livestock immunization campaign that begins on 14 October 2012 where he also issue three regional offices with 4×4 WD vehicles.

According to information received from the Somaliland News Agency-SOLNA, highly skilled Veterinary personnel will provide the inoculation campaign that targets over a million heads of stock to all beneficiaries with any costs charged.

The livestock minister also donated 4×4 WD land cruisers to the Sool, Sanaag and Togdheer regional coordinators thus ease their movement not only during the inoculation exercise but also during normal course of duties.

The new vehicles assigned the three eastern regions were termed as usual tool by the state minister for Eastern Regions reconciliation Hon Keyse Abdi Yusuf who informed that local residents continue to appreciate the central government through gestures as this.

The reconciliation minister assured his livestock development counterpart that the livestock immunization would be undertaken in the eastern regions in a peaceful and orderly manner.
