LASANOD (Somalilandsun) – Calm has returned to Las anod town following the deadly explosion on Friday night.
While the perpetrators of mysterious explosion that injured five people seriously in the town on Friday night are yet to be nabbed, tight security has reassured residents.
According to the mayor of Las anod Mr. Mahmud Haji who briefed the press in his office life is back to normal despite injury to five residents who are receiving medical attention at one of the hospitals in the town.
At the same time, the former governor of Buhodle Mr. Harir Gadweine is reportedly in police custody after local police arrested him in Las anod town where he was on a visit, the first outside Buhodle since he resigned a few days ago.
Police sources indicate that they arrested the former Buhodle governor on orders of Mr. Mohamed Mahmud Ali ‘Jinn yare’ the Sool regional governor. No reasons have been issued on the arrest either from the regional government in Las anod or interior ministry in Hargeisa
