Somalilandsun – All Somali speakers wherever they are in concurrence with the recognition accorded the Dahabshiil Company by International Somali Awards (ISA).
This was stated by MP Yusuf Hasan who represents Kamukunji constituency in Nairobi at the Kenya parliament during a TV interview in Eastleigh estate where Somalis are majority and whom he represents in the August house.
The MP was referring to the Award of Business of the Year granted Dahabshiil Group at the International Somali Awards 2016 which were co-sponsored by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office
Other winners at the ISA 2016 were
· Most Effective Initiative of the Year – Adesco Africa
· Sports Person of the Year – Mo Farah CBE
· Best Entertainment Award – Mo Ali
· Highest Educational Achiever – Hawa Jama Abdi
Though others were awarded for the significance of the one to Dahabshiil is in relation to the huge impact the group has on Somali speaking communities globally.
