Somaliland: Country Condoles Kenya

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Republic of Somaliland has extended condolences to the President, Government and People of Kenya following the Death of Two senior officials.

A message of condolences from the government released by the ministry of foreign affairs, the President H.E. Ahmed Mahmoud Silanyo said, “I hereby, on my own behalf, that of the government and people of Somaliland, extend heartfelt condolences to the president, government and people of Kenya on the death of Internal Security minister Prof George Saitoti and His Deputy Hon Orwa Ojode.

“During this trying time the people of Somaliland stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kenya brothers and sisters in mourning for the dead leaders.”

Kenya’s Internal Security minister Prof George Saitoti, his deputy Orwa Ojode and four others were killed when a Police chopper crashed in Kibiku area in Ngong forest reportedly at 9am on Sunday.

Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka who arrived at the scene with Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere confirmed that the two ministers died in the crash along with Prof Saitoti’s two bodyguards and two pilots.
