BORAME (Somalilandsun) Councillor Mohammed Hussein Meydane has been declared the new Borama mayor following a vote of no confidence declared upon his predecessor Cllr. Suleiman Hassan Haddi.
At the same time the deputy mayor’s office saw a new occupier in the name of Cllr. Omar Illeye Jimale soon after it was announced by the Regional Governor that the former mayor’s deputy had tentatively tendered a resignation.
In the Wednesday 24th June’15 meeting at Borama Town Hall that was graced by the RG, Mohammud Ali Suleiman a.k.a. Ramah, councilor Haddi was voted out in absentee at the assembly that saw 18 civic leaders in attendance. Two councilors are in abroad.
Mayor Meydane was voted in by 13 councilors. RG Ramah heaped praises upon the resigned deputy mayor.
Meanwhile reports say that the deposed mayor has pledged to work with the new Town Hall chief executives.
