Somaliland: Barre Declares Intent to Vie for the Ruling Kulmiye Party Vice-chairmanship


Kulmiye party enjoys wide grassroot support nationwide

BURAO (Somalilandsun) – Mr. Ahmed Elmi Barre has publicly come out to contest for the vice-chairmanship post in the forthcoming Kulmiye party national delegates conference expected to be later this month.

The contestant made his announcement at Hotel city Plaza in Burao town the same venue where the current head of state H E Ahmed Mohamed Mahmud (Silanyo) was selected as his party’s presidential contender.

While declaring his intention Mr. Barre briefed on his vision and goal to grab the lucrative post on 29th January thence drive the current ruling party of Kulmiye to greater heights as he mentioned that “am the first person to reveal about his intention to contest the first vice-chairmanship of Kulmiye party whose current occupant is Mohamed Kahin Ahmed.

The candidate asked party members and Somaliland citizens at large to support him in his campaigns and quest to win the top party post “God willing I expect to garner more than 80% of the delegates votes” said Mr. Ahmed the aspirant who is also a member of the ruling Kulmiye party executive council.
