Somaliland: Anglo-Somaliland Cooperation Enhanced

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Governments of Britain and Somaliland have agreed to enhance existing bilateral partnership especially as pertains to Security and Economy.

This development comes a meeting between the Somaliland president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo and the deputy British Ambassador to Ethiopia Mr. Chris Allan at the Hargeisa presidency where the two met.

President Silanyo Welcomes Cris Allan to the Hargeisa PresidencyDuring a post meeting press conference held at the presidency jointly by Mr. Chris Allan and the Somaliland minister of Trade and Foreign Investment Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar, the two officials informed that Britain which is home to the largest Somaliland Diaspora shall not only maintain its development interventions in the country but boost them as well.

The British envoy who informed that his government is fully committed to its friendship with Somaliland also revealed that the Somaliland Development Fund is to be finally launched in the country within a few weeks time.
