Kenya: Cabinet Secretaries Sworn-in

Somalilandsun: President Uhuru Kenyatta today witnessed swearing in of new Cabinet Secretaries at a function in State House Nairobi.

The President reminded the Secretaries of tasks ahead which includes delivering new constitution and promises made by Jubilee Coalition during the last general election. “Kenya has a new system of government that requires your input for effectiveness, County governments are the current destination for the development and the realization calls for Cabinet support,” he said.

“While we still remain united as one Nation, the Cabinet needs to respect the space accorded to the different arms of the government,” he said.

The President asked the Secretaries to remain focused on the Vision 2030 blueprint as an alternative of transforming the country into a middle income economy. He asked the Secretaries to forge neccessary alliance with the private sector, international community and other development patners for the realization of the vision.

“The government has embarked on strengthening framework to incorporate private sector and other partners in realising Vision 2030, Cabinet Secretaries need to provide additional strategies to help take Kenya to a new level through the vision.”

Uhuru emphasized on intergrity among the new Secretaries to ensure full service delivery.

The new Cabinet Secretaries underwent National Assembly vetting process. Amina Mohamed Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who travelled abroad did not attend the ceremony
