HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Bi-lateral relations between Djibouti and Somaliland have received a big boost.
This follows the arrival of the neighbouring country’s resident Diplomat Amb Hussein Omar Kawaleeye ‘Kafaliye’ thus assume his official duties.
Upon arrival in the capital Hargeisa the incoming envoy was received by officials from the Somaliland ministry of foreign Affairs among them this country’s representative in Djibouti Ambassador Mohamed Warsame.
According to Amb Warsame the incoming resident Djibouti representative who is a former Central bank deputy governor and a member of parliament for 20 years is an experienced operative who will serve the well interests of the two neighbouring countries.
After thanking the government of Somaliland for the warm reception Amb Kafaliye who revealed that he is well versed on relevant issues in the country having been a regular visitor in the past, pledged to perform diligently thence enhance existing relations between Djibouti and Somaliland.
While Somaliland has maintained a diplomatic presence in Djibouti for a number of years this is the first for that the country where the local passport is a valid travelling document to reciprocate.
