Somalilandsun: Dahabshiil Bank International (DBI) has conducted a seven-day training for its staff and officers on internal control and risk management.
The training was conducted by Cornerstone, an international audit advisory firm and financed by international consultants, SPARKS.
Participants represented DBI offices and branches in Hargeisa, Burao, Berbera, Wajaale, Borama, Bossasso, Garowe, and Mogadishu.
Zakaria Ali, deputy director of Dahabshiil Bank International provided the opening remarks at the event. He stated that the training program aimed at improving the competitiveness of employees at the various headquarters of the bank to ensure performances have been further augmented. He added that Dahabshiil has always been providing training for its respective employees to ensure a system of accountability of better service delivery to clienteles.
Speaking to the employees for whom the training program has been closed, he stated his final will, urging them to take advantage of the training and make use of the sector of various opportunities by the bank and further improve the quality of services which they provide to the customers. He also expressed appreciation to SPARK for sponsoring such a laudable training.
Keynote speakers speaking on behalf of SPARK, Cornerstone firm and other distinguished guests at the event reiterated the necessity of employees’ capacity building in which they can influence, train and improve the livelihoods of their core employees across the country. They added that private sector businesses need major support, and training employees is crucial in the organization’s progress.
A representative speaking on behalf of spark also enlarged the significance of this sort of training to all the corporate, and highlighted that this session was more of a discussion session than training, the representative also sent her gratitude to the management of Dahabshil Bank International and admired their open-mindedness.
Ahmed Nur, who was the lecturer delivering the training on behalf of cornerstone also gave a final remark at the conclusion of the event and elaborated on the receptiveness of the participants, Ahmed Nur speaking at the event stated that this was a discussion session and the representatives of DBI from all the headquarters exchanged ideas on the best ways to deliver better services to their clientele.
The event has been concluded with certificates provided to the twenty employees who finalized the training program.
