Somalilandsun: The government of Somaliland has termed the donation of military ordnance to Somalia as an affront geared derailing improving relations within the international community.
In a statement released by the presidency in Hargeisa the Chinese donation of military vehicles and equipment was an exercise seemingly in response to the growing relations between Somaliland and the international community more with Taiwan and the USA where president Muse Bihi is currently visiting on a ten days official working tour.
According to the presidency’s director General Mohamed Ali Bile who signed the statement, “ the move was a provocation to disrupt relations between Somaliland, Taiwan and the United States.
He also questioned the timing of the donation and said it was during a week-long visit by the President of Somaliland to the United States, where he was holding various meetings.
“The deployment of Chinese military equipment to the Somali army during the Somaliland president’s visit to the United States is not a coincidence, but a provocation to disrupt Somaliland’s relations with Taiwan and the United States.” said the Director.
