Somaliland community in Wales, UK were hosted by the Welsh Parliament in Cardiff, to celebrate 18th May independence day celebrations.

The highly organised function was held at the Welsh national assembly in Cardiff.

Moderator of the festival Miss.Siham Arwo read the itinerary of the programs. She confirmed the participation of incredibly speakers and performances by traditional Somali singers.

Speaking to the congregation the social justice minister of Wales Mrs.Jenkins acknowledged that it was a great day for Somaliland people celebrating their 32nd Independence Day.

All the guests who spoke concurred that it was high time the international community recognise Somaliland.

They stated that the country had fulfilled all the requirements of statehood.

Somaliland has been an independent country since 18th May 1991 and has been lobbying for its international recognition ever-since.
