The office of the Attorney General, has issued a prosecution notice; to former Somaliland House of Representatives speaker, Hon.Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed.

According to a reliable source, informed Somaliland sun, that the prosecution notice, was sent to the chief justice Mr.Adam Haji Ali Ahmed and another copy; to the defendant.

The prosecution notice which was dated 1st June 2023, was received by the Supreme Court, on 4th June 2023. It explicitly stated and pinpointed, the various sections of Somaliland constitution, the former speaker had violated.

It revealed, that former speaker of lower house of parliament, had deliberately denied and violated the independence, self-determination and unity of the people of Somaliland.

Former Speaker of Parliament Hon.Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, blindly acknowledged the utterances of the 33 traditional council of elders; that Sool, Sanaag and Cayn are under jurisdiction, of the federal government of Somalia.

Hence, former speaker Hon.Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, had violated sections 1/2 of Somaliland constitution. He also lied under oath, not being loyal, honest and just; to the government and people of Somaliland; whom he represented. He sided with his clan members and defied the others in the country.

Former parliament Speaker Hon.Abdirizak went against section 50 of Somaliland constitution part 3/5. He did not fulfil his mandate of representing the electorate who voted for him, according to the law, he also quit his responsibility of speaker of parliament without permission, missing 20 parliamentary sessions without valid justification.

The prosecution notice revealed that the former speaker had been away without permission for 45 days, abandoning his responsibility. He also criticised Somaliland Armed forces who were partaking their constitutional mandate to protect the country from outside incursions and its security.

All these allegations, were brought against the former speaker of parliament; by the Attorney General.

In another development, the former speaker, posted a terse statement on his Facebook page, he stated that the chief justice Mr.Adam Haji Ali Ahmed, had overstepped his authority and had no business of prosecuting an honourable speaker; with parliamentary immunity. He revealed that, only the two houses of parliament, the senate and house of representatives; have the authority to question him.
