Somalilandsun:The president of Somaliland H.E Musa Bihi Abdi today met with a delegation
from the British Department of Foreign and International Development (DFID)
led by Mr.Phil Evans.
According to news filtering out of the rendezvous obtained by Somaliland
News Agency (SOLNA) revealed that the meeting pertained how to assist the
disaster victims of cyclone Sagar that had ravaged Somaliland coastal
regions, and the upcoming parliamentary and council elections, improving
agriculture and livestock farming, catalyzing economic development
activities, completion of country constitution and creating jobs for youths
were discussed.
The delegates from the DFID and the government of Somaliland
representatives highlighted the need to open channel of communication
between the government of Somaliland and DFID so that it could streamline
operations.
On his part the head of DFID Mr. Phil Evans said that he was ready to work
with Somaliland to help the cyclone Sagar disaster victims at the coastal
regions. He also confirmed that DFID will continue to support Somaliland
democratization process particularly the 2019 slated parliamentary and
council elections.
The head of state was flanked by the vice president H.E Abdirahman
Abdillahi Ismael (Sayli’i) and the minister of foreign affairs Mr.Sa’ad Ali
Shire and minister of energy and mineral resources Mr.Jama Mohammud Egal.
