Somalilandsun: Chairman of Somaliland National Electoral Commission (SLNEC) Announces Issuance of New Voters Cards
The chairman of Somaliland National Electoral Commission (SLNEC)Mr.Musa Hassan Haji Yusuf has announced the dates of commencing issuance of voters cards in the country.
In a press conference he held at the commission headquarters in Hargeisa the chairman SLNEC revealed that the voters who had registered during the 2022/2023 will be issued their voters cards.
The SLNEC chairman revealed that the exercise to handover the voters cards to voters will take 10 days. He urged all those who had registered to collect their voters card in their polling stations.
Addressing the media the chairman of SLNEC said “I want to inform the voters who had registered that the voters cards will be issued starting 31st May 2023 and will end after 10 days. I call upon all voters to collect their cards at polling stations countrywide.”
He confirmed that the voters cards issuance will commence in two phases. In first phase three regions will receive their voters cards they are Awdal, Sahil and Sanaag on 31st May 2023 to 9th June 2023.
The second phase of issuance of voters cards will begin in Maroodijeeh, Togdheer and Sool region on 12th June 2023 to 22nd June 2023.
