Puntland Troops based in the town of Badhan have deserted and subsequently announced that they have joined Somaliland.
These batch of deserters include some soldeirs who had defected from Somaliland in May 2019.
The departure of these troops to Somaliland coincides with the planned visit of Somaliland President Muse Bihi in the Sanaag region.
The resident clan’s recently complained that the Badhan District Council’s shareholding was improperly administered by Puntland.
