HARGEISA, Somalilandsun: The Somaliland Online Media Association (SOMA) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Al-Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli security forces in the West Bank.
The SOMA condemnation came via statement signed by its Chairman Mustafe Abdi Mohamed ‘Janale’
“it is with great sorrow that we received the news of the shocking and brutal murder of Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli forces” he said
And on behalf of the Somaliland Online Media Association I strongly condemned the Wednesday May 11th heinous killing of our colleague”

She was rushed to a hospital in Jenin in critical condition, where she was declared dead shortly after, at 7:15am (4:15 GMT), according to the ministry and Al Jazeera journalists.
Stressing that Shireen Abu Akleh, is now a martyr, for she was killed in the service of her long persecuted people, Palestinians the Somaliland journalists group said that the murder is a clear violation of the freedom of expression.
“This is evidenced by the fact that she was directly targeted by a sniper since the bullets were fired from under her ear and did not reach the bulletproof vest he was wearing.
“We will remember the horrific assassination of Shireen Abu Akleh and we will never forget it.” Concluded the SOMA Chairman
