Somalilandsun: Ministry of Religious Affairs Holds Workshop for Awdal Clerics
The ministry of religious affairs, held a training workshop; for clerics in Awdal state capital, Borama. Ministry of religious affairs, officials informed the clerics; to preach peace and good morals, to their congregation. They also told them; to inform the public, to collect their voters cards.
Ministry of religious affairs coordinator for Awdal region, Sheikh Hamud Nadiif, urged the populace; to collect their voters cards at polling stations. He stated, importance of electoral practice; for good governance and accountability.
Director of mosques and the pulpit, Sheikh Mohamud Ma’alim Adam said, “I’m very pleased of how things are progressing, but I want to put much emphasis, on the voters cards, we must mobilise our congregation; to collect their voters cards. Only three days are remaining, for the electoral body;to close the issuance of voters cards exercise.
The seminar, organised by ministry of religious affairs, in Borama, seeks to mobilise the clerics; to preach to their congregation, the importance of electoral participation. Somaliland National Electoral Commission (SLNEC) has started the issuance of voters cards to the electorate.
