Somalilandsun : During my presence in Somaliland I witnessed a Democratically mature citizenry and country
This was stated by former Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma to the Somaliland president Musa Bihi Abdi during a meeting between the two at the Presidency in Hargeisa.

The former Sierra Leone President is in the country as part of the 30 strong African only observer mission to the Somaliland elections 2021 organized by South Africa based Brenthurst foundation.
According to a statement from the presidential press office the private meeting saw the two leaders discuss various issues related to the Somaliland democratization process, just concluded parliamentary and local Councils elections as well as others pertinent to the African continent.

First of all, the President of the Republic of Somaliland briefed the President on the various stages the country has gone through and the unforgettable history written in the name of the Republic of Somaliland which has attracted international attention, but the people of Somaliland are still waiting for the international community they were entitled to be awarded the International Recognition.
The President commended the former President of Sierra Leone for coming to Somaliland and highlighting the realities of development, security, democracy, coexistence, unity of the people and the government of the Republic of Somaliland. milk.
President Ernest Koroma noted that he had witnessed a mature, experienced election community queuing up to cast their ballots from different parties.
The president conveyed information on the adoption of electoral observers and representatives of local parties on the past.
The meeting, which was private to the two presidents, discussed a number of key issues in Africa.
Finally, the President presented the former President one by one with pictures of past presidents of the Republic of Somaliland and others that reflect the history of Somaliland, including the historic Talleex Fortress and other places of special importance.
