Hargeisa (Somalilandsun): The much anticipated recruitment of 45 people as civil servants working for the ministry of interior has been postponed by the Civil Service Commission-CSC.
According to the Chairman of the CSC Commissioner Nuuh Sheikh Musa Duale the delay in recruitment is related to ongoing short listing of the over 2500 applications so far submitted which will take a week to complete thence the exercise undertaken same day (Saturday) next week.
The 45 positions were advertised by the interior ministry for the purpose of boosting its on and off persons registration unit thence turn it into a fully fledged department with officers in regional, district and division levels nationwide.
The overwhelming applications for the 45 advertised positions is a clear indication that the country has a bloated qualified and skilled youthful workforce in want of gainful employment thus urgent measures needed from both public and private sectors in putting effective job creation strategies in place.
The large interest is also an indication that concerted anti-illegal (Tahrib) measures and campaigns by various stakeholders including international organizations led by IOM, Government of Somaliland and citizens is bearing gradual fruits.
While announcing postponement to almost 2000 expectant later turned disappointed applicants outside the Civil Service commission headquarters in Hargeisa Commissioner Nuuh who informed that short listing shall be completed soon and interviews embarked next Saturday Promised that the selection process shall be fair and based on criteria only and nothing else.
