BORAME (Somalilandsun) – 2012 Final year students of Amoud University will graduate in a new spacious hall.
This development has been made possible through a Dahabshil company donation that will see the old tiny hall destroyed to pave way for a new spacious university conference hall with a sitting capacity of over 1500 people.

ccording to the Dahabshil Awdal region manager Haji Ismail Abdi Riraash, the money transfer company decided to fund a new hall at the Borame town based university after observing how students and their parents as well as other guests were congested during past graduations and other ceremonies.
“Upon further information that the university will graduate over 600 students this year Dahabshil management, consulted construction engineers who prepared a budget and design for the hall.
Construction for the new conference hall has already started in earnest with the firm contracted for the works assuring both the Dahabshil and Amoud university management of works completion by the end of 2012 Ramadan which is about 50-60 days.
This is not the first time for the Dahabshil Company to support Amoud University, having participated in various development activities at the oldest institution of higher learning in the country which is also going to become the first to provide masters and Ph.D. programs in Somaliland.
The announcement by Amoud University last week that it will start providing Postgraduate and Ph.D. studies at a ceremony officiated by the minister of education Hon Zamzam Abdi Aden has been elicited much interest nationwide especially for students unable to advance their studies past the bachelor level owing to lack of sufficient funds to finance the studies in a foreign country.
