HARGEISA (Somaliland sun) –The spate of violence exhibited by some residents of Sahil region are unnecessary and could injure the being of the country.
This was stated by the chairman of opposition party UCID Eng Feisal Ali Warabe during a press briefing at the Egal international Airport upon return from a two nation foreign visit which he termed as having concluded successful.
Eng Warabe who was refereeing to incidents that saw angry residents arm themselves and establish roadblocks in the road linking Hargeisa to Burao warned that it is against the law for citizens to arm themselves in grievances.
The ruckus in Sahil region had ensued with demonstrations in Berbera town in protest against what was termed as continued persecution of journalists by the government resulting in a spate of arrests.
Protesters burn tires in Berbera“Somaliland is a country molded through peaceful reconciliation thence any grievances within any quarters should not result in unruly conduct” said the party chief while adding that the misbehavior should cease once and for all”
At the same airport briefing Eng Feisal Ali who was accompanied by a delegation from the German Somaliland Business Forum informed that he participated on invitation at an international bossiness fair in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai where fruitful foreign investment contacts were established.

Prior to the Dubai fair the UCID party had visited Djibouti where he met and held discussions with the neighbouring country’s president Ismail Omar Gelle ensuing with commitments for continued friendship and mufti-sectored partnership between the two countries.
More so the two also discussed forthcoming elections in the three Horn Africa Countries, status of the stalled internationally sanctioned talks between Somaliland Somalia as well as regional security among others.
While the visit to the two countries was beneficial as per enhancement of relations the most important outcome was the accompanying delegation from the German Somaliland Business Forum who are in the country to asses sectors to invest in.
