HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Three persons are undergoing investigation on suspicion of terrorism activities.
The three suspects who are the custody of police in Hargeisa were arrested during a regular police swoop in the capital city.
According to the police commissioner Gen Abdilahi Fadal Iman who spoke to the Dawan newspaper, the three suspected in police custody were hauled in for questioning after tentative investigations showed cause to connect them with terrorism related activities.
Said he, “After sufficient proof police in Hargeisa are holding three people as a prelude to intense investigations to their links with terrorist organizations”
While praising the investigation and arrest teams for their diligence to duty, Commissioner Fadal informed that the country is secure from the ill intent of terrorists as his force is in full control.
While one of the suspected terrorist remains unknown, the other Two are Hasan Baruud and Jamal Yusuf Osman with the later having masqueraded as educationists through ownership of the Universal Institute based at the city centre.
While the country has remained free of terrorism, the onslaught meted on neighbouring Somalia’s Al-shabaab by the AMISOM international force is a cause for worry since the success of AMISOM in Somalia might translate to an influx of the extremist organization fighters in the country.
