Somalilandsun- In a successful and peaceful transition Muse Behi Abdi has been sworn in as the fifth president of Somaliland
At a swearing in ceremony officiated by the Chief Justice in Hargeisa Muse Behi Abdi sworn allegiance to the Somaliland constitution and rule of law based tenure in office.
The new President also immediately took the powers of office from his predecessor Ex-president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo under witness by many dignitaries among them former president Dahir Rayale Kanin, chairman of Guurti , service commanders, legislators of the two chambers, traditional and religious leaders as well as Opposition politicians.
Upon taking oath of office president Muse Behi Abdi pledged to a reign in which the rule of law runs Supreme in the country.
In his speech outgoing president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo stressed on the fact that he is handing over a one country governed by a single administration.
Former president Dahir Rayale Kahin urged upon president Muse Behi on the importance of a people’s driven administration.
Muse Behi Abdi becomes the fifth president of Somaliland after his Kulmiye party garnered 55%of votes cast during the November 13th presidential elections contested by the three political parties.
