Somaliland: President makes stop-over in Balidig

Balidig (Somalilandsun) – the president of Somaliland H.E. Ahmed Silanyo and his entourage made a stopover in Balidig center of Togdeer region.

It is reported that the head of state’s entourage arrived in Balidig at around 22 hours where they retired for the night.
The president who was in official visit of the western regions of the country that border Ethiopia is said to have officiated development projects in his tour that started some four days earlier. Reliable sources indicate that the national chief executive would hold closed door meeting with the local community before continuing with his tour.
Earlier stop over’s of the president were characterized by road side rallies where locals tabled their demand to the government but president Silanyo did not make pledges of any kind. The president maintained that his tour was aimed at witnessing the plight of follow citizens residing in the regions of his visit.
Though pundits believe that Silanyo’s tour is part of larger scheme of the ruling regime to campaing for his second term re-election, the conspicuous absence of the ruling part Kulmiye’s chair leaves many not to support that line of thinking.
