HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – 5 people are awaiting charges at the Hargeisa law courts related to handling illegal substances.
This was revealed during a press conference by police commissioner Gen Abdilahi Fadal Iman who informed that the case against the five was clear cut as ample evidence is available.
“In the course of normal operations within the City police found the five accused in possession of a large quantity of alcohol as well numerous bundles of Hashish (cannabis sativa) which are illegal substances” Said Gen Fadal
Saying that the suspects will be arraigned in court soon where he hope for stiff sentences as per the law Gen Fadal said that the while the police force is on top of other crimes, smuggling especially of alcohol and hashish remains a headache.
While thanking city residents for continued support to the police force through information the general asked citizens to avoid areas prone to flooding during the rainy season thus evade unnecessary injuries and deaths.
