Participate in Discussions on the Somaliland Judicial System Challenges and Reforms
Somalilandsun- Somaliland Mission to the UK and SOAS invite you to an event with Somaliland’s Chief Justice, and President of the Supreme Court, Adam Haji-Ali Ahmed.
Mr Ahmed will be discussing his landmark reforms to Somaliland’s judicial system. Dr. Ahmed, who was appointed as Chief Justice in 2015, has overseen a significant process of reform in this short time, including the creation of mobile courts in rural areas, extending the judiciary’s independence from the executive, and increasing the proportion of female prosecutors. Mr Ahmed will be discussing the reform process and potential challenges for Somaliland’s judicial system.
