HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Coordination between Youth and Sports stakeholders will be enhanced.
This revelation came during a consultative meeting the ministry of youth, sports and culture held with its donor partners at Mansoor hotel in Hargeisa where the imperative need of sharing information was agreed.
Addressing the meeting whose objective was brainstorming all-inclusive program implementation coordination, the minister of Youth, Sports and culture Hon Ali Saeed Raygal commended Mercy Corps (USA) for consistent support to youth development in the country.
Said he, “Though the ministry has several donor partners Mercy Corps stands apart as pertains to coordination with us”
The Youth and sports minister who stressed on the importance proper youth development has on the future welfare of the nation urged other local and international partners to emulate mercy corps in order to realize coordinated and impactful results for programs implemented on behalf of youths.
While acknowledging that various youth related programs were implemented in the country, Hon Raygal said that his ministry, which has the mandate to oversee such developments, is devoid of relevant and factual data due to non-coordination with the donors.
The daylong meeting had in attendance Mercy corps, Care International and save the children fund-SCF as well as a number of local NGO’s affiliated to the ministry.
