Somalilandsun – The administration’s plans to expand the road network in the country is necessitating the acquisition of state owned machinery thus the dispatch of an assessment team to China.
The 3 member team composed of the Somaliland Road authority-SRA Manager Prof Hasan Ali Osman, Chairman of the National Tender board-NTB Aden Abdilahi Nugaal and Personal Secretary to the presidency minister Sharmarke Ahmed Muhumed who have been in China for over a fortnight have so far visited several companies with a view to comparing prices and quality of desired road construction machinery.
Since the administration of president Silanyo came to power the road network in all parts of the country have seen an improvement either through rehabilitation or new construction as per the campaign pledges made during the 2010 presidential election campaigns.
With the acquisition of an assortment of machinery mostly Caterpillars, rollers and tipper trucks among others the government shall be in a better position to expand the road network at a faster and broader scope in view that all current works are undertaken by private contractors.
